Zuiderdam is the next ship to be reimagined through Holland America Evolution — the largest fleet update in our 153-year history. That means the bold transformation of our fleet is expanding, with Zuiderdam Spring 2028 sailings.

Evolution Expands

Holland America Evolution is a bow-to-stern transformation of six Signature and Vista Class ships, bringing Pinnacle Class experiences to more of our fleet. Crafted for how guests travel today, our refreshed cruise experience feels both premium and personal — with every update building on our heritage of service and perfectly sized ships to craft something new, something unforgettable, something more.

The reimagined Oosterdam is set to debut in December 2027. But that’s just the beginning. Now Zuiderdam is taking our fleet transformation to the next phase.

A Ship Built for This Moment

Zuiderdam is a Vista Class ship designed for the kind of travel Holland America does best. She’s perfectly sized to weave through straits and channels with ease and offers the intimacy of a smaller vessel, without losing any of the extensive variety and enrichment guests expect on board Holland America cruises.

Now she’s getting the full Evolution treatment. So what does that entail?

The Grand Dutch Café Comes Aboard

Zuiderdam will also debut the Grand Dutch Café — an all-day destination for relaxation and community. This is European café culture at sea, rooted in our Dutch heritage and inspired by cafés across Amsterdam and Northern Europe. It’s a perfect place to stop by for a morning espresso, a mid-day beer, or a light bite in the evening.

Inspired by traditional Dutch cuisine and expertly crafted, offerings may include:

• Apple and bacon Pannenkoek (pancakes)
• 16 Dutch and Belgian beers
• Stroopwaffles
• Savory Herring sandwiches
• Specialty coffees
• Quiches and souffles
• An array of fine spirits

Many of the dishes and drinks at the Grand Dutch Café are included and some are available for purchase.

Rooms Refreshed & New Categories Added

We’re refreshing staterooms throughout Zuiderdam and adding two new categories: Solo Verandahs and new Bridgeview Suites. We’re also adding new Vista Suites and one reimagined Pinnacle Suite.

Solo Verandah Staterooms exist for one simple reason: guests asked for them.

Rather than adapting existing spaces, these staterooms were purpose-built from the ground up for solo travelers, prioritizing smart design, comfort, and privacy. Each offers 200+ square feet of thoughtfully planned space, making it easy to relax, recharge, and truly feel at home at sea.

From intuitive storage to a dedicated workspace, every detail is designed to support the way solo guests travel — whether they’re exploring during the day or unwinding on board in the evening.

Each Solo Verandah Stateroom includes:

• A glass walled shower with a modern, open feel
• Comfortable seating and refined finishes
• Full Holland America amenities

Experience sweeping ocean views through panoramic windows in two innovative new Bridgeview Suites. Enjoy views a captain would envy from a forward-facing balcony. Bridgeview Suites include 900 square feet of separate living and sleeping areas designed to maximize space and scenery.

Positioned high on the ship for a rare vantage point, Bridgeview Suites deliver sweeping ocean views that feel almost uninterrupted. Panoramic windows wrap around the suite, creating a full 180° perspective — the kind of outlook typically associated with the bridge itself. From sunrise to sunset, the horizon becomes part of the experience, whether you’re relaxing inside or stepping out onto the balcony.

At approximately 900 square feet, each Bridgeview Suite offers generous, thoughtfully designed living space. A wraparound balcony extends the suite outdoors, inviting you to take in fresh sea air from multiple angles. Inside, separate living and sleeping areas create a natural sense of flow and comfort, giving you room to unwind, entertain, or simply watch the world glide by.

Every element of the Bridgeview Suite is designed to maximize both space and scenery. The layout emphasizes openness, letting natural light fill the suite throughout the day while maintaining privacy. It’s an ideal choice for guests who want their stateroom to feel like a destination in itself — equal parts retreat and observation deck.

Pinnacle Suite: Views Shaped by the Ship’s Passage

Our most expansive suite yet, the Pinnacle Suite offers 1,550 square feet of refined living space with panoramic views and a private balcony. A separate living room, powder room, bedroom, ensuite bath, and walk-in closet create a residence at sea.

Vista Suites: Views That Invite You to Unwind

Designed for relaxed, indoor-outdoor living, these inviting suites are being introduced on Oosterdam. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, a teak-lined verandah, and comfortable seating, they create a bright, open retreat with added comfort and ease.
